If you already have your hands on the mouse, the quickest and more comfortable way to open the PowerShell is by right-clicking on the Windows Start button.

2. Create a Shortcut to Open PowerShell

Shortcuts are also a quick way to open programs. It’s possible to create a shortcut for PowerShell by:

  1. Searching for Powershell in the search box
  2. When it appears, right-click on it
  3. Choose pin to taskbar

From now on, every time you need to access PowerShell, you just have to look for the icon in the taskbar.

3. Open PowerShell from Windows Folder in Start Menu

If you’re willing to scroll through all the apps in the start menu, that’s another way to open PowerShell. Right-click on the Windows Start menu button and scroll all the way down to the Windows folders.

Click on the drop-down menu in the Windows PowerShell folder and voila! Choose which PowerShell you want to open.

4. Open PowerShell from the File Explorer

If you’re already in the file manager searching for a file, why not open the PowerShell without leaving.

Once you’ve opened the File Manager, choose the File you want to open. Click on File, and you’ll see options to open Windows PowerShell that will allow you to open it with standard permissions.

The second option will be Open Windows PowerShell as Administrator; what this option does is that it opens PowerShell in the current folder but as an administrator.

If you type PowerShell from the address bar after selecting a file and press enter, PowerShell will open with the previously chosen path.

5. How to Open PowerShell from Task Manager

There are a few ways you can open the Task Manager. For example, you can try pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc or right-clicking on the Windows Start menu.

Once it’s open, click on More details > Run new task > Type PowerShell.

6. Open PowerShell with a Right-Click

If you only right-click, the PowerShell option is not going to appear. But, if you press Shift at the same time you right-click, that’s when the option appears.

7. Use the Command Prompt to Open PowerShell

For those times when the Command Prompt is already open, you can open PowerShell by typing start PowerShell and press enter. It’s that easy.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, the quickest way to open PowerShell is by right-clicking on the Windows start button. But, it’s always good to know other ways it can be open since you never know when you might need to open a different way. How do you open PowerShell?
