Where to Find Team Member ID in HubSpot

MonaMay 4, 2020 Comments (0)

HubSpot is an online software company created by Brian Halligan and Dharmesh Shah in 2006. It currently develops and markets software products and services for sales, inbound marketing, and customer services. Their products are meant to serve as tools that aid customer support, promote better management of customer relations, content management, search engine optimization (SEO tools), web analytics, live chats with clients, and social media marketing.

HubSpot is frequently adding new features that make customer management and division of labor among team members more manageable with features that can be integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, SugarCRM, and salesforce.com, NetSuite, amongst others. It also offers an online learning platform where individuals, business owners or managers can sign up to learn about inbound marketing strategies. Apart from making other third-party services available, they also offer consulting services and host conferences in groups.

HubSpot Plans

Like with most online building, organizing, and tracking software, HubSpot has both free and paid subscriptions. The paid subscription gives you access to full-stack software for marketing products and customer services and is best utilized with a team. The free version offers everything you need to organize, track, and build better relationships with leads and customers with popular features like contact insights, deals, and tasks.

HubSpot is an inbound marketing and sales software that allows team members to stay connected while working on a project. The project can be anything. One main advantage of creating teams in your HubSpot is the ease of access that allows you to display your whole business or firm structure by introducing groups into these teams. The teams you create can then be referenced in various workplaces across HubSpot.

Finding Team Member ID in HubSpot

If you are already using the new settings experience then creating a new team will be quite breezy. Just navigate to the “create team” option on the user settings screen. Here you will be prompted to enter team name, add users among other things. (Note: You can create as many teams as you deem necessary to reflect your business structure). When this is done and you have a team in HubSpot, you can create a reference for that team at leisure. But you might also need to acquire your team members ID when you need to create references in certain scenarios. Below is how to get your team member HubSpot ID.

There are two ways to get IDs, you can get it by pulling the list of owners via this command: GET /owners/v2/owners/

This command will pull out all the owners that exist in that HubSpot account. HubSpot Creates or updates owners when an account adds new users (team members included) or existing owners are synced from the Salesforce. You can just go to your browser and type in “http://api.hubapi.com/owners/v2/owners?hapikey=demo ”

Where the word demo will be your HubSpot API key. This command will display your HubSpot users and their IDs. You can also retrieve team member ID via your HubSpot account. To do so you must log into your account.

When you are logged into your HubSpot account go to settings. In setting navigate to properties and contact properties. Here, click on the search bar and choose the contact owner property. A list of your contact owners (which will include your team members ) will be displayed alongside their IDs. You can then extract the team members ID that you need.

Hub Options Available

HubSpot, like the name reveals is a spot for hubs, and here are the Hubs offered by HubSpot:

CMS Hub

This hub has content management software that enables developers to create powerful code, make customers feel at home with a secure experience while still giving various options to marketers. Most of its popular features include drag-and-drop editor, SEO recommendations, and website themes.

Marketing Hub

This hub offers software that aids marketers in increasing flow of traffic to their sites, run complete inbound marketing campaigns at scale, and increase the time people spend on their products. Its popular features include lead generation, marketing automation, and analytics

Sales Hub

The sales hub is different from the marketing hub and is a software that helps sales managers conserve time and close deals faster by getting deeper insights into prospects, automating a tedious task that consumes an insane amount of time and energy. Some of its popular features include email Tracking, meeting Scheduling, and Email Automation.

Service Hub

This offers software that helps you get back to your customers faster and connect more with your customer base by figuring out what your customers need and meeting those needs to the maximum. It has popular features that include tickets,  gathering customer feedback, and creating a knowledge base.
